Young sewist Emma

It is always a delight to teach young people to sew and Emma was a very enthusiastic beginner. This was her second lesson and we made a reversible apron as found on the fabulous Aesthetic Nest blog. I did simplify the lesson slightly by not adding ric-rac along the pockets and bottom of the apron. I think these look lovely, but I wanted Emma to be able to go home with a finished item and was worried that we might not finish in time. As you can see from the photographs she was very pleased with herself and rightly so.

She has decided to come back for some more lessons so I am trying to think of projects that will challenge her that are exciting for a 12 year old to make.

If any one has any suggestions they will be gratefully received.
